Who can Join?
- Athletes grades 1st-8th - New and returning cheerleaders welcome - No prior cheer experience needed (NO TRYOUTS!) - Athletes are placed on teams depending on age and school location
Practices
Practices are held twice per week and are 1 hour and 15 minutes long. Each practice includes: - Warm-up & stretching - Jumps and cheer technique (they will learn at least 3 jumps) - Cheers & sidelines (they will learn 2 sideline dances & 20 cheers) - Stunting (they will learn 5 different stunts) - Halftime routine - Practices are held at community parks nearest to each team
Coaches & Team Structure
Each team is led by: 1–2 Head Coaches and 1 Parent Coach
Monthly Free Activities
Each month we will have an activity for all of our teams to attend! June- Kick off Party July- 4th of July Parade (Shirt & Bow fee of $20) August- Tailgate & Showtime Performance September- end of season skating party
Football Games
Games typically begin in late August and are held once per week, usually on Saturdays. At the games, athletes will perform their cheers, stunts, sideline dances, and perform on the field at halftime. They get to practice leadership through rotating being team captains. Halftime snacks are parent-led, and the children of those parents serve as captains for that game.
Cost & Payment Schedule
- Monthly tuition of $95 is charged June – September (4 months) - Payments are posted on withdrawn the 1st of each month - All families are enrolled in automatic payments
Tuition covers: - All practices - Game days participation - Coaching and instruction - Showtime performance - Some activities and bonding parties Uniforms costs are not included in tuition.
Uniforms & What to Wear
Practice attire: Hair pulled back, No jewelry, Athletic shoes Uniform: Shell top, Skirt, Midriff, Spankies, Pom Poms, Warm up Jacket & Pant, White Shoes. If you are a returning athlete you can reuse last years uniform and only order the items you grew out of.
Communication
We use the Band App for all team communication. Here is where your teams practice reminders will be, videos of cheers and routines for them to practice, game day details, and any coach announcements. This keeps everything in one place and reduces missed messages. If it has to deal with all the teams as a whole; we will communicate via email from uvcheer@gmail.com

Upper Valley Cheer is non-competitive and focuses on:
- Teamwork, Confidence-building, Leadership, Fitness, Friendship, and having fun in a positive environment
Every athlete is encouraged, included, and supported — no experience required.
